Her name is Judit Czapak and here is our conversation on a couple of things.
She is a busy mom of 2 kids and also works outside home. Therefore she does art part-time for now and would like to devote more of her time to art in the following years.
Question: How did you start, was it challenging?
Answer: For me painting was always relaxing, I enjoyed every
moment of it. Learning this technique was not challenging at all, rather
fun, and interesting. I had to experiment a lot before I reached this
current level. I learned the basics of Photoshopping by myself, because I
had to use Photoshop to edit my photos. I created my website, also had
to design my business card, and a larger business postcard (with
pictures) for advertising. I never took any art classes before and never
studied any art or graphic design before.
I find her art very elegant as well.
Question: Where one can learn about textured painting?
Answer: "I really don't know where someone can learn this style.
But this is how I learned:
I saw pictures on the internet, from other artist who have been already doing this texture art, and I was studying them for months, meanwhile was experimenting with all kinds of texture materials and paint. It all started with just buying some stuff from the local art store. At that time I was working in morning shift, and every day I got home around 3:15 pm, and by 4 pm I was ready to experiment, or was online studying the photos (I found really good closeups, like mine) sometimes until I went to bed. It took me about 3-4 months until I learned the basics and I was able to paint something that look professional. I was really motivated, because I really liked what I have seen on those inspiring closeup pictures, and wondered I wish I could do that too, until I learned it. I think if you are motivated enough you can learn anything."
